The basics#

What is Nanabase?#

A shared contact directory for companies. Each person keeps a private contact list, and the contacts they share with the company stay with the company when they leave.

Is Nanabase a CRM?#

No. A CRM tracks deals and the sales pipeline. Nanabase remembers everyone your company knows, in every department, and works alongside your CRM.

Do I need a password?#

No. You sign in with a link sent to your email, or with Google. Nanabase stores no password. See Getting started.

Can I use Nanabase without a company?#

Yes. A personal account is free and holds up to 1,000 private contacts and your own card. You can create or join a company later.

Private and shared contacts#

Can my company see my private contacts?#

No. Private contacts are visible only to you. Your company sees a contact only after you share it.

What does my company get when I share a contact?#

Name, email, phone, company and job title. Your private notes and tags stay private unless you tick the boxes to include them. See Sharing and review.

Can I take back a contact I shared?#

Only while it is waiting for review. Open My Contributions and click Withdraw. Once a shared contact is added to the directory, it belongs to the company.

Who approves shared contacts?#

Owners and admins. The owner chooses how strict review is: every contact waits for an admin, contacts go in marked unverified, or they go in right away. A likely duplicate always waits for review.

What happens to my contacts when I leave a company?#

Your private contacts stay in your account. The contacts you shared stay in the company directory, marked as added by a former member.

Company and roles#

What roles are there?#

Owner, Admin, Member and Viewer. See Roles and permissions for what each can do.

How do people join our company?#

Colleagues who sign in with a verified work email on your company's domain can join. Admins can require approval, and can invite people by email. See Team management.

Can members see everything in the activity feed?#

No. Owners and admins see the activity of the whole company. Members and viewers see their own.

Can we change our workspace URL?#

No. The workspace URL is chosen when the company is created and cannot be changed later.

Import and export#

Which files can I import?#

CSV and vCard files, up to 5 MB and 2,000 rows per import. If your contacts are in a spreadsheet, save it as CSV first. See Import and export.

Can I import contacts from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?#

Not yet. A direct import is coming soon. For now, export your contacts from Google Contacts or Outlook as a CSV or vCard file and import that.

Can I export my contacts?#

Yes, your own data. In Settings, open Danger zone and use Export my data. You get a JSON file with your account and your private contacts. Company directory contacts are not included.

Plans and billing#

Is Nanabase free?#

Yes, for personal use, with up to 1,000 private contacts. Companies start free, with up to 20 members and 1,000 company contacts.

How much is the Company plan?#

$149 per month, plus any sales tax. It allows up to 100 members and 10,000 company contacts. See Billing.

Do I need a credit card to start?#

No. Starting is free. Paid plans are billed through Stripe, and the owner or admins manage billing in the app.

What happens if we cancel?#

The Company plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Then the company returns to Free limits. Your data is kept.

Security and privacy#

Is my data encrypted?#

Connections use TLS. Email addresses, phone numbers and notes are also encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, with a key protected by Google Cloud KMS. See Security and privacy.

Is two-factor sign-in available?#

Not yet.

How do I delete my account?#

In Settings, open Danger zone and click Delete account. Deletion happens right away and cannot be undone. See Account settings.

nbTap#

Is nbTap available?#

nbTap for iPhone is on the App Store. Android is planned. The web app works on desktop and in your phone's browser. See nbTap.
