Your data and who owns it
Who owns what in Nanabase: your private contacts and card, the company directory, what a public link shows, and how to export or delete your data.
Nanabase keeps two kinds of data apart: what belongs to you and what belongs to your company. Your company owns its directory. Nanabase stores it only to run your workspace.
What belongs to you#
- Your private contacts. They live in My Contacts and belong to your account. Your company and its admins cannot see them. They stay with you if you leave a company.
- Your card. You choose who sees each detail on it. See My Profile and your card.
What belongs to the company#
- The company directory. When you share a contact, the company gets its own copy. Your private copy stays with you.
- Shared contacts after you leave. The contacts you shared stay in the directory, marked "Former member" under Added By.
Once a share is approved you cannot take it back. You can withdraw a share only while it is waiting for review. See Share a contact with your company.
What other people can see#
- Your public link shows your name and photo, and you can turn it off at any time. It is not listed by search engines.
- A guest QR code in nbTap carries the details you chose to share inside the code. Anyone who scans it, or takes a screenshot, can save those details.
- A copy someone already saved cannot be taken back. If a person saved your contact to their phone, that copy is theirs.
Export your data#
Open Settings, then Danger zone, and use Export my data. You get a JSON file with your private contacts, memberships and account details. The company directory is not included: a company cannot export its directory yet. See Import and export.
Delete your account#
Open Settings, then Danger zone, and click Delete account. Type your account email to confirm, then click Delete forever.
- Your account, private contacts and cards are deleted. This cannot be undone.
- Contacts you shared with a company stay with that company.
- A company where you are the only member is deleted with your account.
If you own a company that has other members, make one of them the owner first. See Members and invites.
Delete a company#
The Owner can delete a company in Company Settings, under Delete Company. Type the company name to confirm. This deletes the company's directory, members and other data, and cannot be undone.
For anything else about your data, see the Privacy Policy or write to hello@nanabase.co.
